Privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026Uttermost keeps the people you pray for, and what you pray for them, on your device. We don't collect your personal information.
The short version
Uttermost doesn't collect, store or share your personal information. The names, places, notes and prayer points you enter stay on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking in the app. Uttermost sends a few anonymous usage statistics, such as that a prayer session was finished, so we can see which parts of the app help people pray. These never include anything you've entered.
Who we are
Uttermost is made by Dylan Bono ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy, email dylan@dylanbono.com.
What Uttermost keeps on your device
To keep your prayer list, Uttermost saves the following on your iPhone:
- The names or aliases of the people, families and ministries you add, and any notes you write about them
- The place you choose for each one, which can be a region, a country, a city or a point on the map
- Prayer points, answers and the dates you record
- Your prayer history, such as when you last prayed for someone and how many times
This information stays on your device. We never receive it and can't see it. Uttermost doesn't sync to iCloud or any server.
Praying for people in sensitive places? Anyone who can unlock your phone can open Uttermost. For workers in sensitive countries, use an alias (like "J & K") and choose a region or country instead of an exact city. Uttermost suggests this when you pick a place in a country it marks as sensitive.
Looking up places
Uttermost uses Apple Maps to show the globe and to find places. When you search for a city or drop a pin, the text you type or the point you pick is sent to Apple to find matching places, and map imagery is loaded from Apple. We don't receive these requests. Apple handles them under its own privacy policy.
Uttermost doesn't ask for or use your own location.
Device backups
If your iPhone backs up to iCloud or to a computer, Uttermost's data may be included in that backup. Apple handles those backups under its own privacy policy. This is also how your list moves to a new iPhone.
Anonymous usage statistics
To learn which parts of Uttermost are used, the app sends short, anonymous notes about actions to PostHog, a product analytics service. For example: the app was opened, a person was added, a prayer session was started or finished, or a prayer point was marked answered.
Each note can include:
- Counts, such as how many people are on your map or how many you prayed for in a session
- Simple choices, such as whether someone was added as a person, family or ministry, and whether their place was set to a region, country, city or exact point
- Whether a gift was given, and which of the three sizes
- The app version, the iOS version and whether the device is an iPhone or iPad
- A random ID created when the app is installed, so notes from the same install can be counted together
They never include names, aliases, notes, prayer points, answers, places, countries or coordinates, or anything else you type or choose on the map. The random ID isn't linked to your name, email, Apple Account or any other app, and deleting Uttermost removes it. We've set PostHog to discard IP addresses and not to work out your location. We don't use these statistics to track you or to show ads, and we don't sell or share them.
What Uttermost doesn't do
- Uttermost doesn't require an account or ask for your email.
- Uttermost has no advertising and doesn't track you across apps or websites.
- Uttermost doesn't sell, rent or share your information with anyone.
- Uttermost doesn't access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Purchases
You can give a one-time gift inside Uttermost to help keep it free. Gifts are App Store purchases that Apple processes, and they don't unlock anything. We don't receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. Apple may give us anonymous, combined sales reports.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. These don't identify you or include what you've entered in the app, and you can turn them off anytime in Settings.
This website
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. It's hosted on Firebase Hosting and uses Google Fonts, both run by Google. To deliver the pages, Google may process technical information such as your IP address and browser type under Google's privacy policy.
Children
Uttermost doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The anonymous usage statistics described above are the same for everyone.
Deleting your data
You can delete a person, family or ministry, along with their prayer points, inside Uttermost at any time. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If Uttermost ever starts collecting information or syncing your data, this policy will say so before that happens.
